Markham Investigation & Protection (MIP), established in 2005, is a company that provides specialty expertise in the areas of investigations and protection. We provide High Risk/ High Threat Protection services and specialty investigations to corporations, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, professional businesses, residential clients, etc.

MIP was founded as a sole proprietorship in 2005 and is owned and operated by the founder D. Cory Markham. He originally ran the operation from his home, but has since grown into a company providing services to a much broader area requiring that he moved from a single local office to several offices located in cities across the state. In 2009, the company's business structure changed from a sole proprietorship to a small business corporation (SCorp) and has integrated other security companies to increase coverage areas with-in the state. Today, the company continues to operate and provide services to fortune 500 companies and large organizations within Washington state as well as bordering states and Canada.

MIP Is currently providing security staff to multiple private, public and nonprofit organizations located across Washington State and the Northwest. Some notable clients are the Steel Foundation, the Jewish community, the Seattle Aquarium, Seattle Public Library, Northwest harvest, Maritime Security-all ports from Tacoma, WA to Blain, WA. Etc. MIP is the high threat mitigation service provider for many other security companies in Washington State and the North West.  And, recently MIP has made strides in providing professionals to global companies helping fulfill missions in Haiti, Chile, and Iraq.

Our team consists of pre-screened, competent and responsible individuals with the experience to get the job done quickly and efficiently.  Driven to consistent staff quality and professional development, common backgrounds for all MIP employees include military, law enforcement, body guard schooling graduates (ESI, max security EP training schools) or federal agents.  All MIP employees are trained to exceed industry standards and are MOAB certified, and MIP has instituted an Educational Incentive Program within the company to ensure the ongoing and continual professional development of all employees.

MIP has instituted special response teams within the company and we take pride in being able to provide professionals responding to high threat situations within one hour of an emergency call anywhere in the state. Core teams include the rapid response team, quick deployment team and high risk team. MIP is consistently coordinating multiple sites simultaneously, spread throughout Washington, with various public and private agencies with short notice.

Cory grew up in a military family and is the oldest of eight siblings five, of whom have served or are currently serving in various branches of military service today. While serving in the military, Cory showed great promise with attention to detail and the ability to effectively handle great responsibility. Therefore he was given responsibilities at an early stage in his career normally only given to highly ranked individuals.
